Leadership

The people behind DEVCON

A volunteer-led non-profit, guided by a Board of Trustees and the DEVCON HQ national office, with chapter presidents and officers leading their local communities across the country.

Volunteer-ledOur leaders serve as volunteers. They pay it forward by giving back to the community that shaped them, and they build programs as a public good, not as an events business.

Winston Damarillo, Founder and President of DEVCON Philippines
Founder and President

Winston Damarillo

Winston founded DEVCON in 2009 and still serves as its President. A serial tech entrepreneur, he has built and sold software companies in Silicon Valley, including Gluecode Software, acquired by IBM, and co-founded Amihan to help Filipino enterprises go digital. He comes from Bohol, and has spent his career proving that world-class technology can be built by Filipinos, from the Philippines.

Why DEVCON matters to him: DEVCON is how he pays it forward. He started it so Filipino developers would have a free, open community to learn from each other, grow careers at home, and take technology to every province, not only the capital. Today he still shows up in person, like training teachers in Hour of AI on the Mindanao AI Caravan.
